Held annually, this Council of British International Schools event for the teams that maintain the business, finance and resources of schools offers a very good opportunity to learn how to deal with challenges and take advantage of opportunities right across the administrative spectrum.

Indicative perhaps of the pressure that many school administrative teams are under, this year’s keynote speaker is human performance consultant and Visiting Professor of Manchester Metropolitan University, Andy McCann. He is a highly commended mental skills practitioner endorsed by many including politician Alastair Campbell and Wales rugby captain Sam Warburton.  Andy will be explaining the topic of Developing and Maintaining Resilience, describing how the ability to self-manage is a crucial element of leadership, performance, longevity and health.

Other elements of the programme will include teacher recruitment and retention, the role of HR in terms of shaping management practices and developing a successful business model for international schools.

Barry Anns and Kieran Millar will be attending from the Engage team. As ever they will be learning from delegates and speakers of the very latest developments and demands in international education. Feedback from conferences is an invaluable part of the process we use to keep the continual development of our school management information system and finance software completely in-line with international school requirements. We look forward to meeting delegates in London later this week.
