Double First House handover Mark Tucker Ron RacherIt was a very poignant moment today when Engage Service Delivery Manager, Mark Tucker (pictured left), handed back the keys to our operational headquarters for the past 27 years.

We moved into Double First House in Yeovil in 1994, when the company was considerably smaller than we are today. It was like a family home, hosting the birth and onward development of Engage, our school management information system, among a flurry of other activity. Many valued staff have served here, in latter years right around the clock. We’ve also lost count of the schools that have visited from across the UK and all around the world. And we’d rather not tell you how many homemade cakes have been consumed.

We’ve shuffled its interior space more than once to accommodate our growing team, but finally came to the conclusion it was time to relocate to a premises offering an open plan main office and greater flexibility for working and meetings.

Thanks to COVID, Double First House has been strangely quiet in recent months, save for the hum of the server room, as we are all still working remotely. Hence our very subdued goodbye. We are grateful for the way our old home has looked after us and would especially like to thank our landlords Ron (pictured) and Jill Racher for their incredible support and friendship over the past nearly three decades.

Now for pastures new. Our systems have already migrated to the nearby Yeovil Innovation Centre and our office spaces are being prepared for us in a dedicated large facility there when we can get together as teams again. We’ll look forward to welcoming customers just as soon as conditions allow and will post pics of our new home soon.

The address to note is Double First Ltd, Yeovil Innovation Centre, Copse Road, Barracks Close, Yeovil BA22 8RN – our other details remain the same.
